The following is an excerpt from a Turkish article entitled “Reinventing themselves as apostles of peace in Annapolis, US and Israel are in preparation for hitting Iran”  published by Milli Gazete,  November 28, 2007.

The Deputy Head of ‘Saadet Partisi’ [SP] (Felicity Party) Mr Sevket Kazan warned that the so-called Peace Conference in Annapolis, undertaken by the US and Israel, will be paving the way for World War III:

“This war against Iran will be launched by the US and Israel with the support of Turkey. Once the power of these two will prove insufficient, UK, France and then finally NATO forces –including Turkey- will also become involved. In that case, Russia will probably side with Iran merely due to its opposition to the US. The primary responsibility for this war and the loss of millions of lives will be born by the ‘Adalet ve Kalkinma Partisi’ [AKP] (Justice and Development Party), which is also responsible for the hundreds of thousands of deaths caused by the US invasion of Iraq.”

Noting that all the groundwork for the so-called Peace Conference in Annapolis has been undertaken by the AKP government, Mr Kazan added:

“Why would Turkey, considered as the most reliable strategic partner of  the US, get involved in such a business? In return for what are these efforts being made? Let me answer: In return for the US’ promise of stopping PKK attacks from the Iraqi territory against Turkey.”
