Kabul – A soldier of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) was gunned down in south Afghanistan, rising the US-NATO coalition casualties to 134 this year. The number is the highest rate within three months from the beginning of the invasion of the Islamist Central Asian country, said NATO sources that did not disclose neither the nationality nor the location of his death.
Another report talks of two civilians killed and four wounded during a rebel attack against a Police-ISAF Base in Bak District, Eastern Khost Province.
The UN rates in 2,412 the Afghan civilians killed in the armed conflict in 2009, mostly in military action involving both foreign and national forces.
