On Saturday Obama blamed the advance of ISIS in Iraq on intelligence failures.

This is reminiscent of the conclusion reached by the Iraq Survey Group as it tried to provided a pretext for the 2003 Bush neocon invasion.

A report declassified in the summer of 2012 and held at the National Security Archive states it was “analytic liabilities” and predispositions that led to the war, the destruction of the country, and the death of over a million people.

Now the U.S. is attempting to revisit this excuse to explain the rapid advance of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.

In addition, the government is trying to sell the idea that pulling troops out of Iraq was a bad idea.

Although Obama campaigned on troop reductions in an effort to pander to and trick the antiwar faction of the Democrat party, he now claims it was the corrupt Iraqi leadership installed in Baghdad that was responsible for the pullout and thus the rise and advance of ISIS or the Islamic State.

“The reason that we did not have a follow-on force in Iraq was because a majority of Iraqis did not want U.S. troops there and politically they could not pass the kind of laws that would be required to protect our troops in Iraq,” Obama said last week.

If we can believe Obama, the administration continues to be surprised by the ongoing and seemingly irrepressible ISIS push, most recently as the group, now considered an army, closed in on Erbil.

“According to sources close to the discussions, President Obama resisted using military force again in Iraq both because he did not feel confident there was sufficient intelligence on the ground. He was also reluctant to reverse the full pullout of combat forces in Iraq, which fulfilled a key campaign promise,” Josh Rogin wrote for The Daily Beast on Saturday.

In fact, as Infowars.com has noted for months, ISIS, formerly al-Qaeda in Iraq, is a force designed by the CIA and trained by the U.S. military. It has received assistance and funds from Saudi Arabia, the Gulf emirates, and Turkey. Its mission is a continuation of the “Clean Break” plan to destroy the Middle East and further balkanize the region.
