WASHINGTON — A new draft U.N. Security Council resolution on Iran due for vote on Wednesday provides for the toughest sanctions Tehran has ever faced, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told a news conference in Ecuador’s Quito on Tuesday.
“These are the most significant sanctions that Iran has ever faced,” she said. “The amount of unity that has been engendered by the international community is very significant.”
She refused, however, to predict the voting results, saying: “I’m not going to comment on something that hasn’t occurred yet.”
