NEW DELHI: Former U.S. President George W. Bush Saturday called on India to support the United States in its war in Afghanistan, reported the Indo-Asian News Service.
Addressing a forum organized by local newspaper Hindustan Times, Bush said the U.S. and India should “work together to win the war in Afghanistan”, according to the report.
Bush said that “if the Taliban, Al Qaida and extremists are allowed to take over Afghanistan, they would have a safe haven again”, according to the report.
India has ruled out sending troops to Afghanistan to join the U.S.-led coalition force against the Taliban.
