The Ferguson October website states the effort is intended “to build momentum for a nationwide movement against police violence.” Marches, “teach-ins,” panel discussions and a candlelight vigil are planned.

Organizers for Ferguson October, Hands Up United, Organization for Black Struggle and Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment say they expect thousands of people to show up in Ferguson and they do not advocate violence. They are calling for a grand jury to bring criminal charges against Darren Wilson, the policeman who shot teenager Michael Brown on August 9.

“We never advocate violence or any kind of looting or anything else. But I do know that people were angry last night and they will be out this weekend,” Tory Russell, a leader of Hands Up United, told Reuters on Thursday. “I don’t know what they are going to do.”

More than likely what they are going to do will be a repeat of what happened in August. Police were confronted, stores looted and burned, and cars vandalized. Police used tear gas and rubber bullets on protesters and journalists (Infowars reporter Joe Biggs was struck with a rubber bullet). Eventually, the National Guard was called out to put down the protests.

Protests follow police shooting of a reportedly armed black teen on Wednesday.

Cops in Ferguson are preparing for a violent repeat. Ferguson Mayor James Knowles told Reuters law enforcement is preparing for large crowds and violence. They have activated an emergency center to coordinate efforts.

“There are a lot of people coming into town,” Knowles said. “We are going to be prepared. There is intel out there that there are people wanting to be bad things. And people who want to cause a problem are going to use that (the St. Louis shooting Wednesday) as a rallying cry.”

The protests and likelihood of confrontation and violence will not change the fact police in America have become, with the avid assistance of the federal government, an occupying army. It will not prevent government from actively recruiting combat veterans as police officers. It will not change the “us versus them” mentality of police across the nation.

So long as people keep voting into office the same class of corrupt political operatives supported by a One Party System, a system that has filtrated down and compromised and paid off local politicians and bureaucrats, nothing will change. The enthusiasm for Obama, who is now largely reviled by the people who voted for him, demonstrates how easy it is to fool the public and perpetuate the system.

“Trust in your local, state, and federal governments!” Thomas DiLorenzo wrote back in August as protests raged in Ferguson. “More importantly, keep voting in every election to legitimize and validate all that they do. And just forget about the fact that it was that very government that shot and killed a young black man in cold blood just last week. Forget about the fact that it is the federal government that has militarized your local black-teenager-murdering police with machine guns, tanks, sniper rifles, night-vision goggles, scopes, mine-resistant armored trucks, and other weaponry of a modern invading army. The government will take care of everything. And don’t forget to vote.”
