Dozens of Palestinian citizens were wounded during violent clashes that took place in several areas in Ramallah and in the north of the city of Jerusalem.

Clashes erupted between dozens of youths and the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at the entrance to the town of Al-Ram, north of Jerusalem. PIC’s correspondent in Ramallah said that the young men threw stones and Molotov cocktails at the Israeli soldiers in protest at the aggression on the city of Jerusalem, amid calls for a new Palestinian Intifada in the anniversary of the Aqsa Intifada.

The reporter said 7 Palestinians were wounded in those confrontations, and quoted eyewitnesses as saying that an Israeli soldier was also injured in the shoulder and was taken by an Israeli ambulance.

Dozens of boys and youths attacked the Qalandiya checkpoint, north of Jerusalem, on Friday evening, and threw Molotov cocktails and stones, while the IOF responded by firing rubber bullets and tear gas grenades at them.

Other clashes broke out near the Ofer prison, south of Ramallah, between dozens of Palestinian youths and Israeli soldiers. Medical sources told PIC that four young men were wounded by live ammunition during these clashes.

Violent clashes also broke out in front of Jalazoun refugee camp, north of Ramallah. PIC’s correspondent said that the occupation closed the road between Nablus and Ramallah near Beit El settlement, and the entrance connecting Jalazoun camp and the village of Sarda.

Meanwhile, the IOF stormed on Friday evening Silwad village, east of Ramallah, and were deployed on the Shohadaa roundabout at the southern entrance to the town. They fired tear gas and used live ammunition in clashes against youths.

PIC’s correspondent said that the occupation forces also used rubber bullets and tear gas grenades in the repression of demonstrations that were launched after Friday prayers in the towns of Ni’lin, Bil’in and Nabi Saleh in support of the Aqsa Mosque.
