The President of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, is expected to visit South Ossetia on 20th September to take part in celebrations dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the republic’s declaration of independence, the South Ossetian leader, Eduard Kokoity, said in an interview with the RIA-Novosti news agency on Thursday.

Mr. Kokoity said that he had invited Ortega as well as the Venezuelan leader, Hugo Chavez, to Tskhinval during his visits to Managua and Caracas last month.

Mr. Chavez said he won`t be present at the celebrations because of the parliamentary elections in Venezuela scheduled for 23d of September but promised to pay a visit to the republic in the near future.
