118 People Killed, 1609 Injured in Kyrgyzstan Clashes

Baku – APA. 1600 people have been injured, 118 killed in the clashes in the south of Kyrgyzstan, spokesperson for Kyrgyzstan’s Health Ministry Yelena Bayalinova told RIA-Novosti.

“According to the recent reports, 1609 have applied for medical help, 118 have been killed. 1274 people have applied for medical help in Osh, 94 have been killed. 335 have applied for medical help in Jalal-Abad, 118 of them have been hospitalized. 24 have been killed in Jalal-Abad,” the ministry’s official said.

The interethnic clashes between the Kyrgyz and Uzbeks have been continuing in the south of Kyrgyzstan for three days. Houses are robbed and burnt in the province. Both sides have been armed. Yesterday the clashes extended into Jalal-Abad province. State of emergency has been declared in both provinces.

Russia has already sent humanitarian aid to Kyrgyzstan.
