‘We stand with Gaza!’
Ceasefire or not – We Demand Justice for Palestine!
Join the Pan-Canadian weekend of action: November 23, 24, 25

While the recently-brokered ceasefire is certainly welcome news, it still does not end the suffering of the people of Palestine. The brutal conditions of Israeli occupation continue, with widespread poverty, mass unemployment, daily violence against civilians and the possibility of further attacks remains.

Ten days of bombing has killed more than 150 people and wounded hundreds more, including many children, and the destruction of infrastructure in Gaza has increased the hardship of the people. These are war crimes and those responsible must be held to account.

We need to send a strong message to the Harper Government and to the world that we will not stand by and allow civilians to be killed with impunity. It remains vital that you join us this weekend and stand with the people of Palestine!

End to the blockade
Open the borders to Gaza
Free Palestine!

Canadian Complicity

Stephen Harper and the Canadian government have given full backing to Israel’s most recent attacks, just as they did for the last war on Gaza and Israel’s war on Lebanon. Canada has also fully supported Israel’s illegal blockade of Gaza, which has restricted food, medicine, and other necessities of life from entering Gaza since 2007. The renewed attacks are making an already dire situation worse.

Canada’s position is a violation of international law and numerous United Nations conventions. With none of the main political parties clearly denouncing Israel’s aggression, there is even more urgency for the social movements to stand in solidarity with Gaza.

In response, the Canadian Peace Alliance is calling for a pan-Canadian weekend of action and solidarity for Gaza to demand that Stephen Harper and the Canadian government immediately end its support for Israel’s war. We are also calling on all opposition parties in Parliament to back the same demand: oppose Israel’s war on Gaza.

Please join us and anti-war and Palestine solidarity allies on November 23, 24, or 25 for local solidarity actions across the country. Let us know what you have planned: email event details to [email protected].

Rally & March
Saturday, November 24 at 2:00 p.m.
Israeli Consulate, 180 Bloor Street West | TTC: St. George or Museum

The Canadian government has failed to condemn Israel’s latest attack on Gaza. Instead, it provides Israel with the military, economic and diplomatic support necessary to carry out its acts of aggression. We call on all people of conscience to join the international Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel until it complies with international law.

And on Saturday, please join us for a city-wide rally and march in solidarity with Gaza. Tell Stephen Harper and the Canadian government: end your support for Israel’s war. Show the people of Gaza and all of Palestine that we stand in solidarity with them.
