“Big Brother” Watches Everyone in America: Obama Signs “Ministry of Truth” into Law

By Stephen Lendman, December 29 2016

In early December, Congress overwhelmingly passed the Countering Disinformation and Propaganda Act as part of the annual National Defense Authorization Act – an unconstitutional measure against First Amendment freedoms. On December 23, ahead of the Christmas holiday weekend, Obama signed it into law practically unnoticed. Along with approving bloated military spending, it establishes a Center for Information Analysis and Response – a de facto Ministry of Truth.

Obama Quietly Signs Propaganda Act to Counter ‘Fake News’ – EU to Follow Suit

By Graham Vanbergen, December 29 2016

Fake news and propaganda driven by government’s and corporations is of course, nothing new. Brexit and the American election have brought the subject into sharp focus more recently as the political class have been unexpectedly losing important desired outcomes. Consequently, as TruePublica reported a week ago, in Britain, controversial laws have been introduced to stem free speech, which, over the passage of time will be used to halt any individual, website or news outlet from reporting against the government narrative with so-called fake news eventually being outlawed.  Think this is conspiratorial theorising? Think again.

History Shows How Rare and Valuable Freedom of Speech and Freedom of the Press Are

By Washington’s Blog, December 29 2016

Why the West is “Helping ISIS” Spread Post-Berlin Attack Hysteria

By Tony Cartalucci, December 29 2016

The Washington Post’s “analysis” fails to explain why ISIS would target a nation so far playing only a minor role in anti-ISIS operations or the logic in provoking a wider divide between Muslims and the West. At one point, the Washington Post actually suggests ISIS may be trying to hinder the flow of refugees away from their territory toward nations like Germany with open-door policies welcoming them. In reality, the Washington Post and the “experts” it interviewed are merely attempting to perpetuate the myth of what ISIS is and what its supposed objectives and motivations are.

What is Henry Kissinger Up To? Better Relations with Russia? Or Eroding Russia’s Sovereignty?

By Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, December 28 2016

The English language Russian news agency, Sputnik, reports that former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger is advising US president-elect Donald Trump how to “bring the United States and Russia closer together to offset China’s military buildup.”  If we take this report at face value, it tells us that Kissinger, an old cold warrior, is working to use Trump’s commitment to better relations with Russia in order to separate Russia from its strategic alliance with China.

Parliamentary Elections in Macedonia: Repeal of Yet Another “Soft Coup”

By Andrew Korybko, December 29 2016

The results are in, and VMRO has beaten back yet another ‘soft coup’ attempt in the Republic of Macedonia. Although there were very legitimate fears that SDSM and its foreign backers might resort to large-scale voter fraud and other such tricks in order to tip the scales in their favor, this was averted because of the due diligence of the country’s patriotic civil society. Macedonian journalists descended on Tearce and their presence served as a deterrent to the illegal activity that was planned.
