About this week’s guests:

Jack Rasmus is a professor of political economy at St. Mary’s College and Santa Clara University, CA. He’s also a freelance journalist, frequent speaker, a playwright and author of books, including “The War at Home: The Bush-Corporate Offensive Against American Workers and Their Unions. His forthcoming new one is titled “The Trillion Dollar Income Shift – Essays on Income Inequality in America.”

The global economic crisis will be discussed on the program.

Lawrence Velvel is Dean of Massachusetts School of Law where he’s a professor of law. Earlier he taught law at the University of Kansas and Catholic University. He’s also been a partner in major Washington, DC law firms, and was the first chief counsel of an organization established to write US Supreme Court briefs in support of state and local governments.

In addition, he’s been active in High Court litigation, constitutional and antitrust law, is editor of the MSLAW Journal, writes often on the law and other issues, and has contributed to Global Research.ca.

His most recent contributions are “You Cannot Pardon a Crime you Authorized,” on Wall Street’s unprecedented concentration of financial power, and why the Afghan War could doom the Obama presidency.

Today’s program will focus on these and other key world and national topics as time allows, including the Gaza conflict.

Connie Fogal is a lawyer, former teacher, political activist and leader of the Canadian Action Party. It’s “dedicated to the principle that Canada can best serve its citizens and the world by reclaiming and maintaining its political and economic sovereignty as an independent country.”

It supports global justice and opposes “corporate rule,” unrestricted investment, colonization of smaller nations, and Canada’s “absorption by the United States” through the secretive North American Union.

That issue, Fogal’s political activism, and her support for human dignity and democratic justice will be discussed.

Kathy Kelly is a long-time political and social activist and coordinator of Voices for Creative Nonviolence (VCNV). It’s dedicated to peace and justice in the Middle East, as well as ending the Iraq War and the “global war on terror.”

She’s authored and contributed to three books, has received dozens of awards, and is a three-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee.

She’s currently on the Egyptian-Gazan border because of the current conflict. Israel’s aggression on Gaza will be discussed.

Peter Dale Scott is a poet, author, researcher, former Canadian diplomat and UC, Berkeley English Professor.

He is a Bush administration critic and anti-war activist going back to the 1960s. He coined the phrase “deep politics” that he defines as follows: It “posits that in every culture and society there are facts which tend to be suppressed, because of the social and psychological costs of not doing so.” In other words, covert criminal policies, unaccountable, lawless, self-serving that hide disturbing truths like the Kennedy assassination, Vietnam war, and the current post-9/11 environment. We’ll discuss his views on American politics and his recent Global Research article titled “The Financial Bailout, War and Martial Law”
