FREE GAZA MOVEMENT: We demand immediate intervention from the EU to allow for the safe passage of the civilian boat to Gaza

In-depth Report:

Latest news indicate Israel WILL stop the Free Gaza flotilla carrying 10 000 tones of urgent humanitarian supplies Israel has been banning from Gaza , unless we STOP them from doing so.

We need to act URGENTLY:

1 – Schedule protests in your local area. There are already protests scheduled in US and Canada .
2 – Write to your elected officials
3 – Contact the media – translate the Free Gaza press releases and distribute them widely in your lists
4 – Write to EU Foreign Affairs head Catherine Ashton –

Palestinians in Gaza count on us to break the siege, if we could not join the brave activists on the boat the very least we can do is to urge politicians to uphold international law and stop the Israeli pirates!

Distribute this message widely!

Model letter to Catherine Ashton – EU Foreign Affairs Representative (

Dear Lady Ashton,

The EU has the obligation to uphold international law. Israel is committing war crimes in Gaza by maintaining a savage siege aimed at all 1.5 million Palestinians living there. Israel has banned badly needed reconstruction material from Gaza as well as items like fruit juice, coriander and school text books. This is unacceptable.

EU countries have FAILED in their responsibilities towards the Occupied Population as High Contracting Parties of the Geneva Convention. Citizens are taking this responsibility into their own hands, given the failure of our governments to act. On their way to Gaza now are eight cargo ships as part of a flotilla aimed at breaking the criminal siege. The ships carry 10 000 tons of badly needed goods such as reconstruction materials and text books for the children of Gaza . There are 600 passengers aboard, the majority EU citizens, including a Nobel prize laureate, an 85-year-old Holocaust survivor and several elected lawmakers from Europe and beyond.

Israel has threatened to stop the flotilla at international waters. You toured last week East Africa countries as part of an “anti-piracy”tour. Israel ‘s violent efforts against unarmed are not only piracy but a grave breach of their obligations under international law, tantamount to war crimes. Will you do anything to stop Israel ? Will EU Navy send ships to protect the civilian Gaza aid flotilla from armed piracy threats from Israel ? No more double standards.

We demand immediate intervention from the EU to allow for the safe passage of the civilian boat to Gaza . This is a legal obligation towards international law, an obligation to protect EU citizens from attack at international waters and a HUMAN imperative. Gaza cannot wait any longer!

Kind Regards,
